God wants us to be free

God wants us to be free; it is our birthright. But what does it mean to be free? He wants us to be free from all the afflictions of this world that bind us in misery; free from inner and outer illusions so that we can achieve the true purpose of life -  to realize who we really are.

Masters tell us that in truth, no one is free. Swayed so easily by what others say and do, we have lost all our independent thinking. Even within our own selves, there is no rest, as we are dragged helplessly by the dictates of the ego-mind and senses. We are so identified with the things outside us that we have no idea who we really are. What hope do we have to be free?

I wish you all to be independent. Independent of your body, independent of your outgoing faculties, independent of your mind, independent of your intellect. Dependence is a heinous crime. Never depend on anyone. Outer help may come to help you up. Sant Kirpal Singh

That Power called God or Master, wishes us to be free conscious beings, able to stand on our own two legs, no longer at the mercy of influences that take us away from truth. How does He help us? First, in the inner way, the Master will help you control your body, mind and  senses, “so that you can make the best use of them, not they use you”.

Now, at the mercy of the senses, our mind lives to gratify its endless desires, taking us further and further away from the goal of human life to realize our divine heritage. For that, Masters tell us that ”each sense should be in perfect control and work according to the person’s will”. We cannot control our mind or senses no matter how hard we try. “It is the God Power within you by coming in contact with Him, that mind is controlled, (there is) no other way” He will never leave us at the mercy of outside forces, and when we make contact with the God in us, He gives of His own qualities to make us wise and strong .

And once He makes us strong in ourselves, there will be no need to rely on anyone outside ourselves. “Become even a little receptive, and the Master (God) in you will restrain you when you are in danger of going wrong.” With the Master’s guidance every step of the way, we can rest assured that He will make us independent and fearless. You will gradually uncover your true self.

I was wondering how I should address you, because I see you in me, and me in you. I think the best way I can address you is as my friends. I have not made you slaves, but equals: because only an equal man can recognize what he is. Those under him cannot know him from that status. You are all my friends; I have love and regard for you. Sant Kirpal Singh came to help all humanity. He wants to help everybody stand on their own legs, to have their own personal relationship with God from heart to heart. That is when we can really be free.

Now in the Golden Age, He has removed all barriers and this contact with God is given directly to each soul. So there is no need for any outer interference, just help from conscious brothers or sisters to help remove any illusions. Life will be beautiful without any interference, only answering to the God in you.
